Linné Diiorio: Stepping Into a Second Act With Courage, Creativity, and Voice

Meet Imperial Council Member, Linné Diiorio
Linné Diiorio is a creative, multi-hyphenate professional who has built a rich career in hospitality, tourism, and events, and who is now consciously stepping into what she calls her second act after surviving breast cancer twice. She spent 15 years working in a convention center, shaping large-scale events and experiences that brought people together. Today, she consults across marketing, events, and voiceover, and she is exploring how all of those skills can serve women who are also navigating change, reinvention, and recovery.
As a member of the Empressa Imperial Council, Linné brings both a seasoned professional perspective and the insight of a woman who has walked through serious illness more than once and is still choosing to build, create, and show up for others.
A Pink Sister Rethinking What “Strong” Looks Like
When Linné talks about breast cancer, she names something many women feel and rarely admit. It is easy to tuck your experience away and minimize it because so much of it is hidden under your clothes. At one point, she told a friend, “It is not like I lost a limb.” Her friend gently replied, “You did. You lost two.”
That moment shifted how she saw her own journey. She began to understand that what she had endured was not small or something to “push through.” It was major surgery, deep emotional work, and a physical and mental reset that would affect every corner of her life.
This was her second time facing breast cancer. She chose a more extensive surgery and, instead of feeling like a repeat she could handle, she found herself feeling a bit picked on by life. She is honest about that. There is no fake positivity. There is reflection, grief, and also a real sense of readiness. Career wise, she is clear that she is ready for a new chapter that honors all of who she is now, not just who she was before.
A Career Built on Experiences and Story
Linné’s professional roots are in hospitality and tourism, which led her into a long career centered on events. For 15 years inside a convention center, she honed the ability to think through an entire experience, from early planning to the moment the lights go down and everyone goes home. She learned how to:
- Hold many moving pieces at once
- Stay calm when stakes and emotions are high
- Ask how people will feel in the space she is creating
In her consulting work today, she wears what she calls “a lot of different hats.” She can support clients with marketing and brand voice. She can design and advise on events. She is also building a body of work as a voiceover artist for media and broadcast.
Her voiceover focus is especially exciting. She has been training in audiobooks and has a home studio ready. While she is not drawn to character heavy fiction, she feels called to voice business and marketing books. These are the kinds of projects where her natural speaking voice, warmth, and clarity can help listeners truly absorb ideas.
In her conversation with Miri, that path becomes real. Miri shares that she has full rights to her brand storytelling book and has never had the time to make an audiobook. She then asks, “May I be your first client?” Linné says yes. She is clear that audiobooks are a longer and more demanding process than the short commercial spots she is used to. You have to sit, rest, manage your energy, and respect the pace. But she is ready. She already has an audiobook coach and a plan to bring in engineering support if needed.
This collaboration is a living illustration of what Empressa stands for. Women are not only sharing knowledge. They are hiring each other, opening doors, and turning talent into real opportunities.
Learning to Work With AI Without Losing Her Voice

Linné describes herself as someone who adopted AI slowly at first and then began to find her own way with it. She cares about the bigger picture. On another forum she heard that one AI query can pull around ten times the energy of a basic search, which gave her pause.
At the same time, she is genuinely proud of how she uses AI now, especially as a personal assistant in her marketing and brand voice work. It helps her:
- Draft and revise content faster
- Do initial research and idea generation in minutes instead of hours
- Save time on repetitive tasks so she can focus on nuance, tone, and authenticity
For her, AI is not a replacement for creativity or judgment. It is a tool that can support the work she already does and help her keep more energy for the human parts of her craft.
Linné With Empressa
Linné’s connection to Empressa began through her husband, who works in Microsoft consulting and had followed Miri’s work for years. He read Miri’s book as a technologist and loved it. As a marketer, she read it and felt both seen and energized.
After walking her own breast cancer journey twice and then seeing Empressa emerge, she felt a spark. Her thought was simple and clear. “She is my girl. I have to get involved somehow.”
What drew her to the Imperial Council was the chance to help shape something at the ground level that is truly built for women. Empressa allows her to bring her full range. She does not have to choose between events, marketing, or voiceover. She can also share wellness insights from her cancer journey inside broad categories like business, lifestyle, and wellness.
As an Imperial Council member, she wants to support women who minimize what they have survived, who feel “too many things” professionally to fit in one box, and who are curious about AI and reinvention but want to stay grounded in real life and real values.
If her story resonates with you, you can connect with Linné and learn from her unfolding second act inside the Empressa Imperial Council. This is where women’s lived experience is treated as expertise and where wisdom is designed to become legacy for others.
From Surviving to Shaping Your Story: Three Practices Linné Lives By
Here are three practices inspired by Linné’s journey that you can begin using in your own life and career.
- Say the hard thing plainly
If you notice yourself softening the truth of what you have lived through, pause and state it clearly. For example, “I went through major surgery and it changed me,” or “That experience was traumatic, and I am still processing it.” Naming the reality out loud is a powerful way to reclaim your story and give yourself permission to heal at your own pace. - Treat your many hats as design material, not a flaw
Instead of trying to squeeze yourself into a single professional silo, write down the roles and skills you actually use. Then ask, “How do these connect, and what kind of professional does that make me?” Linné combines hospitality, events, marketing, and voice. You can also allow your mix to become part of your unique value, and you can design offers, content, or a next chapter that reflects that richness instead of hiding it. - Let AI handle the heavy lifting, and keep the final word for yourself
Follow Linné’s approach and give AI the early, energy intensive tasks. Ask it to help with outlines, checklists, rough drafts, or research, and then bring your own judgment, ethics, and voice to the final version. This keeps your work authentic while freeing up time and mental space for the parts only you can do, such as deeper thinking, creative direction, and relationship building.
Upcoming With Linné: AI Foundations Certification Workshop
Linné is also bringing her voice and experience into a new learning space inside Empressa.
AI Foundations Certification Workshop: Building Career Advocates, Allies, and AI Confidants
In this live Empressa workshop, Linné will guide women through how to build a support system that truly matches the realities of modern work. You will explore the three pillars of that ecosystem. These are human advocates who speak your name in rooms you are not in, trusted allies who walk beside you through decisions and transitions, and AI tools that serve as informed, values-aligned confidants rather than noisy distractions.
The session will clearly define the different roles each of these can play in helping you grow faster, increase your visibility, and navigate complexity in an AI enabled workplace. Through practical guidance and real examples, you will learn how to identify the right people and tools, how to cultivate those relationships with intention, and how to show up as a career advocate for other women as well. By the end, you will have a clearer map for building momentum, expanding your influence, and leading with confidence in a rapidly changing professional landscape.
